Privacy Policy

BabyCam turns two phones on the same Wi-Fi into a private baby monitor. Live video and audio stay on your local network. We do not operate user accounts, analytics servers, or cloud storage for your stream.

Who we are

BabyCam is published by the developer listed on the Apple App Store and Google Play store listing for this app (package com.mygeniusbar.babycam). This policy describes the BabyCam mobile application for iOS and Android.

Information the app accesses

• Camera and microphone — used on the Baby device to capture live video and audio, and on the Parent device to scan a pairing QR code. Media is sent directly between your devices over your local Wi-Fi using WebRTC. It is not uploaded to our servers.
• Local network — used to discover, pair, and stream between Baby and Parent devices on the same network (including mDNS / Bonjour).
• Photos (optional) — if you choose a custom background image, the app reads one photo from your library and stores a copy in the app’s private on-device storage.
• Notifications (optional) — used on the Parent device to alert you to loud sounds or AI-detected crying when enabled.

Information stored on your device

BabyCam stores data locally on your phone, including:

• device identity and display names you choose;
• pairing and binding relationships between Baby and Parent devices;
• monitoring preferences such as alert thresholds and video quality;
• loudness history and sleep trend charts;
• optional cry audio clips saved on the Parent device;
• premium subscription entitlement status cached after purchase or restore;
• language and background image preferences.

You can remove most app data with the in-app reset options or by uninstalling the app.

What we do not collect

• We do not require an account or collect your name, email, or phone number inside the app.
• We do not receive or store your live video or audio on our servers.
• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.
• We do not track you across apps or websites.

Premium subscriptions

Optional BabyCam Premium features are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment, renewal, cancellation, free trials, and refunds are handled by the store. We receive only the purchase status needed to unlock premium features on your device. We do not receive your payment card details.

Children’s privacy

BabyCam is a baby monitor. Video and audio of a child may appear on paired Parent devices on your local network only. We do not collect child profiles or upload child media to our servers. Parents and guardians are responsible for securing their Wi-Fi network and paired devices.

Data retention and deletion

Data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, reset app data, or uninstall BabyCam. Because we do not operate a cloud account for BabyCam, we cannot delete data from our servers on your behalf.

Security

Streaming is limited to devices you pair on the same local network. Use a secure home Wi-Fi network and keep your devices updated. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

International users

BabyCam is designed to process data on your devices. If you use the app outside your home country, your local network and device still hold the data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page when the app changes. The effective date at the top will be revised. Continued use of BabyCam after an update means you accept the revised policy.
